CBT
Cognitive behavioural therapy is an evidence-based treatment that examines the connection between thoughts, emotions, behaviours, and helps clients change unhelpful patterns in thinking and behaviour to improve how they feel.
In session we will work together to identify thoughts and beliefs that may be contributing to your difficulties. By challenging thoughts and behaviours people often notice a reduction in symptoms and feel better able to cope.
CBT is the most researched therapy approach and effectively helps with anxiety, depression, phobias, PTSD, and other issues.
EFT
Emotion focused therapy is an evidence-based approach to help people better understand and accept their emotions and themselves and this brings relief to painful feelings.
In session our work starts with empathy to establish a safe therapeutic relationship. We will then explore and process emotion, experiences, and regulate feelings as needed. We will work with inner parts and explore unresolved emotional experiences from the past and situations with significant others.
EFT helps with depression, anxiety, self-criticism, trauma, relationship difficulties, and working through unresolved and difficult emotions. It can be helpful for those that feel stuck in the same old feelings.
Narrative Therapy
Narrative therapy focuses on the stories that people tell themselves about themselves and their lives. People are seen as separate from their problems and separate from dominant stories influenced by social norms, cultural expectations, oppressive systems, and/or traumatic experiences. Narrative therapy is empowering because there is a central belief that people can change the stories they tell themselves about themselves to create positive change.
In session, a narrative therapist is collaborative and curious. We will focus on externalizing problems. Together we will look at your strengths, resilience, positive qualities, and exceptions to the dominant narrative to help you see yourself in a different light.
Narrative therapy has shown positive outcomes in terms of symptom reduction, improved coping strategies, and increased wellbeing. Narrative therapy is often combined with other therapeutic approaches like CBT and mindfulness.
EMDR
Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing is a psychotherapy approach designed to help people process and heal from trauma, anxiety, and other distressing life experiences. EMDR has become a widely recognized treatment for post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and is also used for various other conditions such as depression, panic attacks, and phobias.
In session the therapist guides the client through reprocessing distressing memories or experiences, helping the client shift from feeling stuck in trauma-related emotions or beliefs to developing healthier, more adaptive ways of thinking and feeling. Therapy will start by establishing emotional safety and we will go at a safe pace to gather history and decide what to focus on for reprocessing.
ACT
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy is a powerful, evidence-based form of psychotherapy that helps people create a rich, meaningful life—while learning to accept the pain that inevitably comes with it. Rather than trying to fight or suppress difficult thoughts and emotions, ACT teaches you how to open up to them, respond more flexibly, and focus on what truly matters to you.
At the heart of ACT is the idea that suffering often comes from our attempts to avoid discomfort. ACT offers tools like mindfulness, cognitive defusion, and values-based action to help you step out of old patterns, reconnect with your core values, and take committed steps toward a more fulfilling life.
Whether you're struggling with anxiety, depression, trauma, or just feeling stuck, ACT provides a compassionate, practical path forward.
SFT
Solution-Focused Therapy is a short-term, goal-oriented approach that helps you tap into your strengths and resources to create positive change—quickly and effectively. Rather than dwelling on problems or exploring the past in depth, SFT focuses on what’s working, what’s possible, and how to move forward.
This empowering form of therapy is based on the belief that you already have the tools within you to build the life you want. With the support of your therapist, you’ll identify clear goals, notice small signs of progress, and develop practical strategies to achieve lasting results.
Whether you're facing challenges at home, at work, or within yourself, Solution-Focused Therapy offers a hopeful, respectful, and efficient path toward growth and resolution.
